We believe that faith is brought to life through practical acts of service.

Some of our on-going ministries include:

Connor House:  Bringing hope and healing to the residents of this apartment home specifically designed for men and women who are HIV+.  Dinner is prepared, served and celebrated with residents 4 times a year.  Church members also prepare and distribute Christmas bags for every resident in December.

Daycare Ministry:  The Daycare is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  We enroll children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old.  We also have before and after school programs.  Stop by or call 317-293-8041 (the Daycare office) for fee and availability information or visit our wesite at

DivorceCare is a seminar and support group to help individuals find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce.  For more information contact the church office.

English Club is a ministry to assist new immigrants to learn the English language.   In partnership with “Migros Aid—Indy” we host “English Club” every Thursday from 6:30—8:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. All that is required to help is some time, patience, the love of Jesus, and the ability to speak conversational English. Volunteers are not required to come every week.  Contact the church office for more information or just show up on Thursday evening.

Kids Hope USA is a mentoring program for children at James A. Allison elementary school.  We build a caring relationship by  meeting one-on-one with a child, for one hour, once a week, for one school year.  Contact the church office for more information.

Men’s Ministry:  The purpose of the Speedway Baptist Men’s Ministry is to support the growth of Christian men, support the Pastor and the ongoing ministries of Speedway Baptist Church, and to reach out to those both in the church and in the community with active works of service with our ultimate goal of reaching the lost for Christ.

Ray & Jack’s Prayer Breakfast is a monthly breakfast held on selected Saturday’s at 9:00 a.m. at a local restaurant.  Men are invited to attend for prayer, fellowship, discussion of ongoing ministry service and planning for future activities.

Ministry of Health and Wholeness“Know Your Numbers” is a ministry offered monthly.  On the first Sunday of each month, immediately following the worship service, blood pressure screening will be available.  Whether you have blood pressure problems or not, knowing your numbers is important for all adults.  Come by the screening table, ask related health questions, and get your blood pressure medication questions answered.

Missions:  We are a church that takes the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to heart both locally and abroad.   Mission projects are developed on a regular basis and we’re always looking for new ways to reach out with the love of Christ.

The Storehouse at St. John’s:  Partnering with other area churches to provide food and social services to those in need in our community.  Food Bank hours are every second Saturday of the month from 9 am – 11 am and every forth Wednesday  of the month from 5:30 pm – 7 pm.

Widow/Widowers Support Group is a Biblical based support group for those who are learning to live without their spouse.  Come join us and learn to heal from the pain of losing your mate.  We meet every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact the church office.
